How did you get inspired by this story?

  • I've been inspired by a lot of things, particularly by my favorite stories and I loved studying how it was written. To put it simply, it was a culmination of all the types of storytelling I loved with the grittiness of neo noir thrillers I grew up watching with my dad all centered around a found family of friends that I wished I had growing up. 

Why is it Part One? Will there be other parts?

  • The entire story is called Ideal Lost, but because it is so long it had to be split into three parts (kind of like Dune Part One, Dune Part Two, etc.) Part One is currently out on preorders, Part Two is currently in the drafting stage. 

How many words is this book?

  • Around 91k

How did you have time to write this and be a teacher at the same time?

  • Honestly I don't really know. Probably sacrificed sleep?
